Training Questions.

WHAT STYLE OF YOGA WILL BE TAUGHT IN THE TRAINING?

Vinyasa Yoga which will remain our primary focus throughout the training. Classes that are flowy, creatively sequenced, playful + strong. We will incorporate options to explore Budokon Yoga, arm balances and inversions (though they’re always an option). While our training primarily focuses on Vinyasa Flow, we will also incorporate bits of mobility, slow-flow and yin + restorative elements for you to incorporate into your personal practice, and teaching if you choose to.

IS THE TRAINING SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?

Yes the training is suitable open to all levels of participants, including beginners. However, you will be required to have a consistent + dedicated practice for a minimum of 6 months prior to training start date. During your training, you will explore a variety of class levels, from beginner to advanced.

WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE ALL THE TRAINING SESSIONS?

In order to receive certification for this training, you must attend all sessions. If you experience an emergency and miss a session, we can arrange a one-to-one private mentoring session outside of the training hours. Please note there will be an additional fee for this.

WILL THERE BE AN ASSESSMENT TO RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATION?

Over the course of your training, there will be ongoing assessments built in to ensure that you feel confident + comfortable. This will include teaching your fellow YTT family in small groups, as well as class breakdown + methodology. Your final assessment will include both a written + practical exam. The assessments are not designed to test your abilities so much as to provide a safe, constructive space to put the tools you’ve learned into practice, and help you become an authentic, confident teacher. Remember confidence is courage compounded over time.

WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO BECOME A YOGA TEACHER, BUT I AM INTERESTED IN THE TRAINING FOR PERSONAL REASONS?

Whether you want to teach yoga, or simply enhance your personal practice (in a stunning location) this training will give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to evolve your yoga journey + movement practice. Though you do not have to aspire to teach, you must be willing to participate in all practical exercises.

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE HYBRID YTT?

This Hybrid training is broken into two parts. Exploration + Practice (80hrs); 4 non-residential weekends in Edinburgh. There is also an online Anatomy course (30hrs) that you will be enrolled in and need to complete outside of our training times. Integration + Immersion (100hrs) 11 days in Goa, where you will receive your certification.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE + DAILY TIME COMMITMENT?

During both portions of your training (Edinburgh + Goa), there will be a mixture of movement, lectures, + self led practices. Though the schedule will vary according to the content of learning; each day will begin with daily sadhana (2hrs of asana, pranayama + meditation practice), followed by class breakdown + methodology. After a long break to refuel; you can expect lectures covering teaching methodology, anatomy + yoga humanities. Afternoons will be spent practicing teaching, exploring hands-on adjustments, and group discussion of yoga philosophy. Please know that whilst the schedule will be both physically + mentally demanding, there will also be time scheduled in to find stillness + pause.
